Die sogenannten Qall sind Mind Flayer, dessen Bewusstsein sich aus unerklärlichen Gründen vom Schwarmbewusstsein des Elder Brain löst, wodurch sie volle Kontrolle über ihren eigenen Verstand und Selbstbewusstsein erlangen.

Behaviour

Die meisten Qall werden vom Schwarmbewusstsein bemerkt und eliminiert bevor sie bei vollem Verstand sind. Doch die Qall, die die "Säuberung" überleben und aus dem Schwarm fliehen, verbringen meist die erste Zeit damit mehr über sich herauszufinden und mit ihrem Dasein zurechtzukommen.

age: Qall live a little longer than Mind Flayer, but rarely past 150 years.
Size: Medium
speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages: You can speak, read and write Common. You can also write Qualith.
race features:
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.   Aberrant Mind. Your creature type is both humanoid and aberration.   Food for Thought. In order to survive, even Qall need to regularly feed on the brains of sentient creatures. You don't gain any nutrition from common food, instead you need to consume the brains of small or larger creatures. When doing so you dont have to eat for an amount of days up to half the Intelligence Score (minimum of 1) of the creature whose brain you consumed.   Telepathy. You can communicate mentally with another creature you can see that knows at least one language within a 30-foot radius. This creature doesn't need to share a language with you, but (unless they have telepathy themselves) they can only receive and respond but can't initiate or terminate a telepathic conversation. You must be conscious to use this trait and cannot telepathically communicate with multiple creatures at once.   Mind Blast. You can use your action to emit a psionic blast in a 15-foot cone. When you use your mind blast, each creature in the area of the blast must make a Intelligence saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Intelligence modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 1d10 psychic damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 2d10 at 5th level, 3d10 at 11th level, and 4d10 at 17th level. After you use your mind blast, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.   Devour Brain. You gain this feature at level 5. When a living creature within 5 feet of you is reduced to 0 hit points, you can, as a reaction, devour their brain completely, gaining temporary hit points equal to your level + your proficiency bonus. In addition, you may receive the answer to one question that the consumed brain knew the answer to. This creature must have a size of Large or smaller. Alternatively, as an action, you may consume the brain of a creature that has died within the last minute and gain the same benefits. You can use this trait up to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain any expended uses of this trait once you complete a long rest.
