Derashi

Occupying the largest and most workable area of The Basin, the Derashi were surrounded by massive grasslands and grazing lands, and as such are regarded with at least a little jealousy by the other Tribes. The Derashi were communal, nomadic hunters of the local wildlife, following the herds of animals as they crisscross the plains in search of grazing spots. They are a large tribe, made up of roughly 68 combat-ready individuals.   The Derashi, being nomadic, are hardy travelers, carrying everything they need to live with them without pack animals, including basic tents and ever-essential fire-making supplies including dried dung scavenged from the trail. They are particularly adept hunters, capable of well coordinated, multi-person tactics, using stone spears to take down their targets.   The small forest to the north is populated by a small cluster of hardwood trees, shrubs, and small game. Branches from these trees are primarily used to create the frames used by the Derashi to carry their possessions with them on their backs, but they also sit far enough away from the Saltmarshes to not be soaked with water, making them excellent firewood material. The wood produced by this forest is too stiff to be used in proper bows.   The Derashi were initially openly sympathetic to the Hundri. They provided aid when they are capable of doing so, coming to their defense and providing supplies when necessary. Recently, however, it has been revealed that the Derashi should not exist and are a growing threat to humankind in The Basin. There are implications that they have aligned themselves with the Mire somehow.   In an altercation with the Radiants, it was discovered that the Derashi had been doing something with one of the God Shards and were attempting to bring it back to the anomaly in the north. In the ensuing combat 17 Derashi fighters were slain and left for dead.   It was later made clear that the Derashi had fallen victims to the Mire almost entirely, though how this came about is not known. During the Battle of the Peak they were almost entirely wiped out and are no longer officially considered a tribe. They do not officially own any territory and nobody today associates themselves with the the Derashi.
