Session Report 3/31

General Summary

Chapter 1

The session started off with Gargan waking up and heading to the training grounds. After an early bout of training, he made his way to the Merchants Quarter and met with Maerovyna, a Diplomat in service to Vorgul Nemmonis. He was enlisted to the service of Lord Nemmonis as an escort, and personal guard while he made his way to the nearby village of Secomber, a small farming and fishing village east of Daggerford.   Having accepted his terms, they set off in a caravan. Being of lesser status, Gargan had to sit in one of the wagons along with Maerovyna, while Vorgul sat in one separately. As they were off, Gargan inspected his surroundings, and discovered a rune, inscribed in the wood on the roof of the wagon. A rune written in familiar dwarvish scripture, but a tad different, enough that it was clear the language was that of something else.

Chapter 2

Dain Orcfoe awoke from his slumber, and promptly tended to his first order of business; reclaiming his hatchet that was left in the nearby Misty Forest. Being a Warden of the forest, this task was shortly lived as he retraced his steps back to the tree he was felling the day prior. He came to find his weapon still staked in the tree, but pinning up a robe, that belonged to Tiok-Man-Dith Gremzevrona, a Diplomat that was staying at the nearby Way Inn. Removing the robe and hatchet from the tree, Dain located a rune, etched into the tree bark by a singed dagger, depicting a rune written in dwarvish. Having discovered this lost robe, Dain located the makers mark on the inside hem that led him to Rhade Fent, a tailor in the village of Secomber

Chapter 3

Rhade Fent started his morning tidying the shop, and tending to the last of his orders from the day before. An organized, and tight kept fellow, he was met with something out of place. Something that didn't quite belong, a black spool of thread rest on his counter, covering the third dwarvish rune the party had discovered thus far. After cleaning up, and deciding what to do with the black thread, Rhade received a knock at his door, from none other than Dain Orcfoe. They sat and discussed the disappearance of the diplomat Tiok-Man-Dith, who commissioned the garment.

Chapter 4

Waiting in the tavern, pouring over schematics and letters, was the Engineer Alrose Thark. Contemplating how to solve the dilemma of filtering ore out of the mines, he sat at the bar drinking and observing the adventuring folk who wandered into the inn. Settling in, he was met by Gargan and Vorgul, who came to meet another Diplomat, and to find a tailor suitable for Vorguls needs.

Chapter 5

After Dain and Rhade had conversed, Dain headed off to the inn in hopes of meeting with the Diplomat. Unsuccessfully, he was unable to obtain a key to the room he was staying at, and decided to wait at the bar with Alrose. Meanwhile, Gargan and Vorgul headed on in, and after some small talk, Maerovyna acquired a key to the nobles room. Now with an opening, Dain followed the dragonborn to his quarters and proceeded to scurry about on his own whim. Searchin through desks and drawers, he eventually found a stone cog, made of an ore that even he as a dwarf could not identify. Just as luck would have it, he discovered another rune etched into the wood on the ceiling. Due to his stature, he needed some help from the dragonborn to see it, but being prideful, he still had to see it for himself, so he hopped onto the desk and stood as tall as he can in order to make out the symbol.
