Coin

Chicagoland, whether referencing the Princedom of Chicagoland or one of the other Societies, all use a common coinage and are very protective of it. A Coin can purchase any resource, or service, that is available. Money talks, and Coins are a universal translator for the various supernaturals of Chicagoland.

When a Vampire kills a foe that the Werewolves want dead, the bloodsucker is paid in Coin. When a Vampire needs an edge and wants a spell cast on him, he pays the Mage in Coin. When you're down and hungry, or the sun is rising and you need a haven - pay with Coin. Always carry Coin.

History

Chicagoland has been using its own currency since the 1880's when a curious Mage of the Chicago School asked a blunt question regarding money. Mage-smiths were bartered with and the perfected metal of these coins was cooled in the Vitae of the Founders of Chicagoland, infused with the Glamour of the Courts, and bound to spirits of The Economy. Every society at the time had a hand in making these, and they have been the standard for almost a century and a half. The Perfected metals don't break, bend, or melt unless under extreme stress. The Vitae infused coins mean these are never lost and spirits ensure they are notoriously hard to hoard. The glamour sets in motion a tendency towards the generation of the emotion the coins evoke. In all, the otherworldly nature of the coins has kept them hidden for generations, as mortals recognize something strange is going on with it.
