S17. Elementally, my dear Watson. Report

General Summary

The heroes struggle against an invisible guardian stalking them around the crypt after they pulled the glaive from the skull of the dragon. For nearly a full minute they dance around the room trying to connect with the creature as it waylaid them time and again. An occasional blow was landed and eventually the thing succombed to a combination of magic and attacks from the team, sending the thing back to where it came from.
Finding no other treasure to retrieve, the grave robbers find their way out of the barrow by moving a topstone aside and climbing out at the summit of the hill. They head back north to Thundertree.
Coming in from the south of the ruins they sneak back in to meet up with Reidoth nearly seems impressed they have returned. He agrees to cover them while they sneak over to the building where the cultists seemed to be staying, and his Pass Without Trace spell does a fine job until they get close to the building. They continue the rest of the way, not doing as well being sneaky, and attack from flanking sides of the building hoping to take them by complete surprise. However, the cultists were ready for them. 
Not to be outdone the monk decides to do some nuclear testing in an attempt to surprise them again. It works. They are surprised at how fast they turn to ashes. And Jareth is surprised at how a 20' radius of fire can fill the volume of a building so quickly. Kanenas also is surprised how far back one can be thrown when one fails to dodge gouts of fire come from a once-shuttered window...
After healing the dying runeknight, they party plans its next move...
