Blodwen ap Gruffyl
Blodwen ap Gruffyl was the second true born child of Count Gruffyl the half dragon and Lady Glynnis ap Gorisonad, but she was a squib, a squib that happened to have draconic eyes and horns. She had a more draconic appearance than her sister who bred true as a sorceress.
At this point in Swynfaredian history, overt draconic traits were seen as a a mark of status, making her a squib of ambiguously high status. She was physical strong and received a good education, but she did not have any especially potent ability to make up for her lack of sorcery. Rumor is, she tried to learn wizardry but flunked out and slew her would-be tutor.
Blodwen did not want to a brood mare, but at her mother's suggestion, Blodwen reluctantly married a sorcerer of the Llafin Bloodline.
Blodwen had five children (1712, 1714, 1717, 1721, 1725), including two sorcerers, a sorceress, and a squib of both genders. All of the children had minor cosmetic draconic traits, but only the girls had the famous Gruffyl heterochromia. Ultimately the girls were claimed for House Gruffyl and the boys were declared Lalfins.
She was famous for heavy drinking and eating and various drugs in quantity and potencies that a human woman would not be able to handle. This became especially pronounced after she hit menopause.
