Borderlander humans
Borderlanders refer to the people of the Border Baronies region of West Colassia.
The Borderland region is dominated by very rugged terrain which resulted in a small number of isolated petty kingdoms/independent baronies situated in the small pockets of fertile farmland geographically isolated from each other. Much of the rugged terrain is home to orcs, goblins, and assorted monsters.
The people reflect the land here. They are tough, rugged and fiercely independent.
A lot of the Border Baronies are politically unstable. It's only a slight exaggeration that travelers passing through the Border Baronies have to cope with different governments and rulers each time they visit. This has given the Borderlanders as a whole a reputation for being fickle.
The Border Baronies are sandwiched between the dwarf dominated nations of Stahlheim and Meckelorn. While the Borderlanders have relatively little contact with the outside world, most of their contact with outsiders is through dwarves. The Borderlanders have assimilated a lot of aspects of dwarf culture into their own. Personal honor, martial prowess, and strong family ties are valued. Borderlanders tend to wear sturdy functional clothing with earthen tones and most men wear beards.
As elemental traits goes, most Borderlanders have predominantly earthy cosmetic traits with a splash of watery traits. Skin tone is usually either light brown or slightly greyish. Hair is usually dark and wavy. Brown and green are the two most common eye colors. Noses are commonly fairly large and slightly pointed, sometimes with unflattering comparisons to the beaks of birds. Borderlanders are commonly stocky, muscular and broad shoulders causing some to say that they have come to physically resemble the dwarves that live near them though this is tempered by strong secondary watery traits.
