Count of Sages

The Count of Sages is the feudal lord in charge of County of the Sage. On paper, the Count of Sages is answereable to the Duke of Greater Gorisonad, but the Count of Rainbowscales and the Duke of Greater Gorisonad are the same person and thus answerable to the Queen of Swynfaredia. The title is unisex and passes to the eldest direct heir with sorcerery, whether they are a sorcerer or sorcress. It just happens to be the case that the current ruler is a sorcerer and thus is called "Count" rather than "Countess".

Responsibilities

Meet obligations to his liege and see to the basic protection and welfare of the denizens of the County of Moonstone.

Benefits

Collect income and taxes from the County of Moonstone. Command the loyalty of the local barons of Moonstone.
The Count also gains informal status for controlling the original lair of Gorisonad the Wise.
