The Countess of Ferrus is the ruler of the County of Ferrous Valley, one fo the less wealthy counties in the land of Swynfaredia but still legally a countess with all the rights privileges therein, at least on paper.
The position is gender neutral. The current ruler happens to be a countess, but her heir apparent is a son and when he takes the title, he will become a Count.
