Hidemi was a Umeran born daughter of a half-dragon. She often got negative attention from her draconic features and opted to migrate to the land of Swynfaredia where her draconic features were considered a mark of status not a mark of the outsider.
That said her accent and background did make her somwhat of an outsider. Because she had heterochromia, she was recruited as a retainer by House Gruffyl who hoped she would marry one of their sons, but she resisted this before falliing in love with and marrying another non-noble sorcerer with heterchromia and founding the Dauli Bloodline with him.
