Personal history
Scribe, who was born as Astoro Roscoe Crealia IV, is part of a family most known for their monster hunting business, library and vineyard. They consider themselves to be somewhat of a black sheep among the family, their older siblings all being quite succesfull.
Growing up, their greatest ambition was to become a powerful wizard along with their twin sister Lilian, but never managed to show any magical inclination during the tome ceremony in Meropis. Their sister got in, but Astoro had to return home.
They didn't give up however, knowing that they could have another attempt at 17. They apprenticed with their uncle Roge, director of the Crelian Institute of Knowledge, in the meantime.
Sadly though, when Astoro returned, they were crushed to once again not achieve a connection with one of the spellbooks present.
Five more years passed, during which Astoro tried to deal with their disappointment in the monotony of their life and spiraled into habits such as smoking, drinking and sleeping around.
Another new hobby was collecting any spellbooks they could get their hands on, still hoping to forge a connection with one. Eventually, one such book succeeded, though not before burning part of their hand in the process.
After reaching Meropis, Astoro was assigned as an apprentice to one Morgana Thornedahl, being specialised in the strange and unusual, such as the case of Scribe and their book was.
Two years later, Astoro was sent out to a "field test", setting out to Northern Sturgia to find a recently detected surge of magic, and bring home anything they could find. Adopting their title and nickname Scribe, they set out on their very own adventure.
Gender Identity
While Scribe is technically an identical twin to their sister Lilian, they transitioned at a young age to a masculine body. Despite this, they are non-binary.

Motivation
I am incredibly curious and love learning new information; especially anything related to history or magic.
I can put up this air of being a "powerfull wizard from an important family", but I've got trouble believing it myself sometimes.
