Corcodir Tower

This tower is located on the Tereielith Road.

Purpose / Function

This tower was owned by the Corcodir family. This was where the family studied wizardry. However, when Rátano Corcodir died without issue, the tower was left to ruin.

Alterations

The third floor is now open to the elements and building blocks litter the forest floor around the tower.   The basement chamber has been excavated and enlarged by a group of cultists, the Cay Klick Worshipers. The first chamber is thirty feet by twenty feet with the stairs opening onto the northwest corner. It has obviously been used as a sleeping chamber, as several bedrolls are laid out on the floor. On the east wall, the long wall, toward the end opposite the stairs is a secret door. On the south wall is a doorway.   The doorway leads to the kitchen/dinning area. The room is thirty feet by twenty-five feet. On the west wall, the short wall, is a hearth. In front of the hearth is a kitchen table and a stool. There are also a couple of dinning tables in the room with several chairs. In the south wall, on the east side is a doorway that opens to stairs.   The stairs lead to the underground river. The unwary might be swept down the river and to a seventy-five foot drop into an underground pool. In the pool lurks the Cay Klick beast.   The secret door opens to a stair that leads to a hallway/storage room. It is forty feet by ten feet with several shelves on the wall. The stairs open on the west wall, the long wall, on the north end. On the south end of the east wall is a double door, that can be barred from the other side.   The double door opens to the ritual chamber. It is twenty-five by forty-five feet. The double door opens on the north end of the west wall, the long wall. On the south end of that wall is the ten by ten foot opening through which the water falls. On the north end of the chamber is an elaborate circle with ritualistic ruins written in blood. There is also a treasure chest along the east wall.   About twenty feet down the water shaft there is an opening on the north wall. There is also a web to catch victims in front of the opening. Traveling through the opening leads down a winding tunnel to a spider's lair. There are several eggs in the lair.   Another twenty-five feet down the water shaft widens. On the western side it forms a slide type tunnel, which opens to the pool as well. Going into the opposite direction of the falls just a few feet opens into a circular cavern that is empty. There is however a secret opening to the surface.   The underground pool is roughly sixty by fifty feet. There is a small island near the northeast end of the pool. On the south side of the pool, the shorter side, is a small sandy cove, which leads to natural tunnel, which will eventually lead to the surface. The Cay Klick beast lives here.

Architecture

The main floor of the tower is enter through large double doors. They open to a large circular room with a hearth directly across from the doors and kitchen shelving to either side of the hearth. A dinning table is to the left of the door and seating is to the right of the door. Spiral stairs are in the center.   The second floor is the library and contains a variety of books about magic.   The third floor is the laboratory and contains several journals of magic research.   The fourth floor is the sleeping quarters. It has been divided into five sections, one of which is a bath chamber and privy.   The fifth floor is the attic. Circular shelves move out from the center stairwell, covered with generations of family clutter.   The underground basement was used for storage and access to the underground river.

This tower was built by the Corcodir family. It was built to facilitate their study of wizardry. However, when the family died out, the tower was left to ruin.   In recent years a group of cultists took over the tower to practice their dark arts.
