Everflame
The flame is visited upon occasion by wizards trying to determine the exact nature of the spell Cristeis Narthor was trying to cast and where he might have gone wrong.
Purpose / Function
This structure was built to contain the magic flame created by Cristeis Narthor when he attempted to perform the Everflame Spell.
Alterations
The flame was later contained in a ring of stones, so it does not spread, but because it was magically created it also will not die.
Red-orange coals sit in the center of a ten foot diameter circle of stone that is four feet and two feet thick. From the coals blue, white, and red flames lick the air seeking more to feed upon. These flickering tongues hiss and spit in apparent frustration at not being able to escape their prison and feed.
Architecture
Initially the area around the flame was simply cleared away to prevent the flame from spreading further.
History
In 732 Cristeis Narthor attempted to preform the Everflame Spell as part of a speech he was giving to commemorate the end of the civil war. However, the spell went horribly awry and Cristeis combusted and created a flame that would never die.
