SWN Session 2: It's Always the Drugs Report

General Summary

The Setup

The party decides that swift action will afford them the element of surprise. They drive the borrowed ground car straight from Rahim Tabari's Compound to Takahashi's Drug Warehouse. The building is a plain-looking construction of concrete and sheet metal. The security measures are just as the surveillance team indicated: cheap cameras and hired punks for guards. The warehouse sits on a corner, with the secure loading dock facing south and the office entrance up a half-flight of concrete stairs on the east. The lot neighboring on the west is a junk pile, and an alleyway splits the building from its neighbors on the north (though there is a fire escape to climb).

The Infiltration

Allorik and Danica stealthily climb the fire escape to the roof, but Decima breaks a heel (no change of clothing available after her... business... at the compound), attracting the attention of two guards from the east side of the building. The two party members on the roof disable the camera and pick the roof door lock to gain access, while Decima shows the brutal side of her Barbaric upbringing by luring the two men into the office break room and executing them with a hidden dagger.   The stairwell leads to the office hallway, past a door to a catwalk that overlooks the warehouse proper. There are controls for a crane, and a ladder down to the secure loading dock door. Four workers are busy loading a truck that is parked in the dock. Danica spots a stealthy spec-ops looking figure sneak into the truck from underneath the vehicle, likely emerging from the large drain visible in the recon photos.   Allorik and Decima find Takahashi in the office and pump him for information. It turns out he's a middleman, and the drugs he sells come from multiple suppliers. This could be the reason only one batch was tampered with, so Decima takes the e-papers with the contracts on them, forces Takahashi to unlock them with a thumb print, and stashes them away as evidence. Allorik goes to help Danica in the warehouse, giving Takahashi to surreptitiously summon a vanload of paramilitary guards as backup.

The Fight

Allorik has tried to gain the advantage over the spec-ops intruder by closing them both in the truck, but the intruder has access to night vision goggles, and tries to shank him. Allorik gets out as fast as he can and climbs on top of the truck. The intruder is locked in the truck, so he tries to fire blindly at where Allorik might be.     Decima uses deception and threats of firearm-based castration to escape from the office, but that leaves Takahashi free to tell the soldiers that there was another intruder who tried to murder him. The troops pile into the warehouse to find Danica has opened the garage door, started the truck, and begun to pull away. One of the soldiers clings on the back of the truck.   The intruder hears Allorik climb on top of the truck, and, despite firing blind, manages to score a direct hit with his pistol. The shot is a critical gut shot, and Allorik goes down on top of the truck. He's conscious, but bleeding out and not fully cognizant. Thankfully Decima shows up with the ground car and follows. She takes a crack shot with her laser pistol, badly injuring the paramilitary guard clinging to the truck. Then she rams the car into the truck, and the man cannot hang on, going tumbling into the gutter.    Danica uses her telekinetic powers to retrieve Allorik from the top of the truck, and plunk him in the passenger seat. She takes a gamble that the truck's alignment is good and uses her turn to slap a LazPatch on Allorik. She has no real first aid training, but thankfully the patch takes, and Allorik stabilizes.   The team stops the truck and tries to detain the intruder, but he bashes his way out a side panel and runs off down an alleyway. Inside the truck there's an open case of combat stims and a kit that was apparently being used to adulterate the chems. The group scoops up as many stims as they can get their hands on and drives off before the guards can chase the truck down in their own vehicle.

The Reward

The group gets Allorik to a medical clinic for the gunshot wound, and against medical advice gets him out and contacts Rahim's personal assistant. They are given the address of a safehouse they can crash at for the next week while Allorik recuperates. It will be a while before he's up to full strength, but all danger from the wound has passed. The personal assistant also facilitates getting the car back (she's not happy about the front-end damage), and delivers their promised reward: Cr2500. This is enough to buy passage off world and have some extra cash for necessities.
