Caretaker Expert System

The system responsible for the control of the huge network of VIs that emerge from Shanxi's subterranean factories. Hundreds of thousands of armatures, from construction robots to window cleaners, emerge from the labyrinthine tunnels beneath Shanxi to maintain its cities. They are known to be controlled by the same system that existed before the scream, though the system laid dormant for more than a hundred years after the initial chaos. The reactivation of the expert system coincided with the appearance of the Caretakers, and many have drawn a line of causality between the two. To this day, no one has managed to make it deep enough into the tunnels of Shanxi to investigate the factories, or to find where the Expert system is operating from.
