Léviathan Noir
A left over fragment of the Turtle Skull Fleet.
While they acknowledge the powerful legacy from which they have descended, it's mostly in it's technological achievement. The leader of the Léviathan Noir specifically praises Delacroix for her decision to bring as many engineers and scientists into her fold as strategists and soldiers, leading to the Fleet's meteoric rise in power and technological superiority in their heyday.
They focus on smuggling in and out of Kamchatka, and operate in most of the other Federation systems as well. It's very rare to see their banner outside of their controlled territory, since they disguise their ships as common freighters and civilian traders. In their home territory, they're known for their sleek black ships, and for having often surprisingly advanced equipment. They rarely engage with Federation patrols, but are known to aggressively defend their borders from the likes of the Hollow Skull and any other groups muscling into their territory.
Within their territory, they prefer to imbed themselves into civilian stations and mining outfits, while keeping their strongholds near the outskirts of their territory.
Due to their commonly undercover status, a particular culture around the naming of their ships has developed. A smugglers ship will have a outward facing "public" name, the one that's on their papers and written on the side of their hull, and a "private" or "true" name, known only to the crew and people close to them. This true name can be used in circumstances of espionage, or unfurled dramatically in the heat of the moment to strike fear into their enemies, depending on the proclivities of the captain. Revealing the true name of a ship out of turn can be considered as highly as treason to some captains.
