Meshism
A somewhat popular religion common throughout Sector One. Their followers can be found all over the Asmaran Federation, and beyond, being one of the most commonly practised religious doctrines. It is also one of the least centralized, having independently formed on a dozen different worlds at some point during the Silence.
Their main teachings revolve around the worship of warrior culture, and the glorification of war heroes and nationalist ideals. They worship a set of seven spirits, believed to be splinters of one destroyed god, each representing a virtue their devotees hold sacred. Specifically spirituality, purpose, truth, dominion, devotion, wholeness, and the idea of a warriors immortality after death.
The idea of a warrior within the religion has evolved from a literal interpretation of a soldier to any individual who puts their own life and safety on the line to advance the greater whole.
In recent years, a sect known as Orthodox Meshism has began to organise believers in the sector, lead by a group of Meshist priests. This is in opposition to what would come to be called Natural Meshism, which puts more focus on individual and private worship.
