The Corsairs of the Lost Belt
A left over fragment of the Turtle Skull Fleet.
They lay claim to the title of true successor to the once mighty Turtle Skull Fleet, their leader claiming to be a direct descendant (son of a son) of Delacroix herself. They hearken back to the height of the Fleet's power, aiming to restore it to its greatness. In practice, they superficially follow the code of honor laid out by Delacroix, but have garnered a reputation of being show boaters and racketeers.
They're also known for their bright paint and brash, gaudy patterns, taunting their enemies with the stylistic holdover from the original Fleet's cobbled-together aesthetic. Their hit and run tactics combined with their colours have garnered them a reputation as "Cometeers" by some communities.
They are the boldest in their skirmishes with Federation patrols, and are the most likely to attack merchant and civilian ships outright along the laneways of the Kamchatka System. They have also been known to perform raids on civilian stations unwilling to pay their protection fees.
They have several bases of operation in the Vesta Belt, and are known to openly operate out of civilian stations under their thumb.
