Kamchatka System
The first star of the Asmaran Arm, and the first system to be incorporated into the Asmaran Federation beyond the founding systems. Their bountiful raw materials enable the federation to fuel their growing interstellar industry.
It's home to one terrestrial planet, its namesake. At its center is a standard yellow star.
The Kamchatkan system offers an extensive belt of asteroids for mining, known as the Vesta Belt, and provides a great share of the raw materials necessary for manufacturing in the Federation. Many mining and trade groups have set up camp in the system, and they vie for control of sections and resources. This conflict has been mitigated in more recent years by Federation trade laws. These groups pull workers largely from Orenburg, which some see as an abandonment of their duty to expand and thrive on Kamchatka.
In addition, the remains of the shattered Turtle Skull Fleet still hold strongholds among the asteroids, harassing ships on their way in and out of the system for refueling, as well as picking off mining and hauling vessels.
The Irkutsk Refueling Station, the largest in the federation, is stationed in orbit around the planet.
Its standard lanes connect it to Uman and Torres.
