The narrower, faster, and slightly more northern of the pair of major rivers that flow in
Shudan from the east. It feeds into
Mottagawa which in turn feeds into
Lake Kohu.
The name comes from the
Shudani words
azu (meaning
east) and
gawa (meaning
river).
