Andriy respected her as his mother when he was a child and into his early adulthood. However, after Olha and Yavik died, her suspicions regarding his involvement and subsequent behavior with Taras let him to exile her from the Gandenye. Their relationship never improved and they only spoke when absolutely necessary until Inna's death.

As Andriy became more skilled in sculpting, the two often discussed art at length. He had no idea how much Andriy hated him. Andriy, at first, got along with his older brother as much as siblings could be expected to, but he gravitated more toward his elder sister. As they grew older, his resentment that Yakiv would be the one to marry Olha, and did, increased and ultimately led to Andriy orchestrating a plot to assassinate him.
History
Andriy saw Taras both as a substitute for Olha and Yakiv. His need to have a piece of Olha after her death let him to sexually abuse his nephew. On the other hand, his desire to dominate and subjugate Yakiv caused a great deal of emotional abuse toward Taras. As Taras grew into his early teens, his became more powerful in magic than Andriy, which further increased the man's resentment. Andriy's view of Taras continued on its warped path as he ultimately saw himself as merely a placeholder for the one the rest of the family wanted on the throne instead. Taras was originally fine enough with Andriy while his parents were still alive. However, those feelings turned to terror as the abuse began and escalated. He withdrew into himself and the lack of help from the wider family or nobles generated horrible resentment and rage in him. His fear of his uncle culminated in him strangling the man during an attempted rape by Andriy after a total of thirteen years of abuse.
History

As they grew older, she found him a competent part of the Department of State Affairs and listened to his advice. She knew he was more fond of her than was normal even in the inbred dynasty line, but did not think his affection would lead to anything negative so never spoke of it with him. Andriy was a shadow to his older sister throughout their childhood and in his late teens fell in love with her. He hated that she was going to marry Yakiv and tried to surpass him in any way possible. After the wedding, he kept close to her through his work for the empire. Ultimately, his jealousy toward Yakiv let to an assassination attempt that, unfortunately, let to Olha's death as well.
