Fedir I Shiroko

Emperor Fedir I Shiroko

Fedir I was the son of Liviu I Shiroko and cultivated a strong relationship with the Ilyannoi just as his father had. He ascended to the throne in 692, but only ruled for just over a year before he was killed in a rock slide while he was on a hunting trip.

Personal history

Fedir was born in 664, the first child of Liviu I Shiroko. Many of his siblings were stillborn until himself and only a few of his younger siblings survived infancy. His father was extremely protective of him and kept him close to teach him everything that a new ruler would need to know. Fedir took after his father in his love for the Ilyannoi, often playing with them. In particular, he became close to his father and decease uncle, Kariim I Shiroko's, tsirins.   When he was eight, he went through the Attunement Test as all children in Eoion did and it was found that he was a pyr-esh. When this came to light, he was excited to learn how to make the Ilyannoi and Liviu spent a great deal of time teaching him, along with ensuring he was always kind to the creatures. He learned of the story of how his uncle had died and never wanted to be so cruel to the creatures he loved. Fedir was also told that this was a strict family secret and to never share it with those outside of the family.   Throughout his youth, he traveled the empire to learn about how each area lived and operated, a tradition that became commonplace for those in the position of tajanji (high prince). During that time, he became close to the Marn and their Okenumi, a species of Ilyannoi that existed only near the Svantei Gansen. He also followed his father in his devotion to Bolugama and spent a large amount of time when he was at home in the Gandenye learning about the various Dea, particularly his ancestor, Ilya I Shiroko.   The original plan was for him to marry his younger sister and continue the family tradition of inbreeding, according to the Doctrine of Dea-an Heritage. Rather than marry before he became baejan, Fedir asked his father to postpone the wedding, not because he objected to marrying his sister, but because he wanted to have some years of ruling before he began a family. Liviu allowed this and Fedir began his rule in peace.   During the first year of his reign, in 692, he worked with his younger brother, Vasyl II, in order to gather the governmental departments into a more organized system. For centuries, they had operated as they had after the first restructuring under Sava I Shiroko. However, this system had fewer departments than both Fedir and Vasyl thought were now necessary given how much the empire had changed since their ancestor's time.   They had just begun their work, and Fedir had also started making plans to marry his younger sister, when he decided to take a small hunting trip. This was not an unusual occurrence as Fedir had enjoyed hunting since he was a young child and it had provided him with experience using the Ilyannoi in combat, although a much different sort than on the battlefield.   Sadly, the hunt ended in tragedy when Fedir was struck by a series of boulders in a rock slide along the mountains where they were hunting. His tsirin had attempted to defend him and died as well in the accident. Both were immediately transported back to the Gandenye. Doctors had been ready to treat the emperor, but it was clear that there was nothing to be done. Vasyl II oversaw the funeral arrangements and Fedir I was interred in the family mausoleum in the Bolugama temple on the Gandenye grounds.
