Ferland Empire
The Ferland Empire is one of the 2 largest and most powerful countries in Selwyn, alongside the Bizmanthi Empire. The Capital is Tyvamenz , and their current ruler is Eldwin Rayfore. Tyvamenz is an old city, and has been the capital for thousands of years. The river of Cercelles (sir-sells) runs all the way through the Empire, at over 1000 miles long, pulling water from Lake Apees (app-ease), one of the largest freshwater lakes in Selwyn, second only to Lake Eminent.
Ferland is the leading producer of magical goods, from weapons to the teleportation portals that are used to instantly travel large distances.
Government
Slavery is illegal here, however, that doesn't mean it is non-existant.
Same-sex and interracial relationships are completely normal and accepted.
Heavy restrictions on where things can be built, which makes it extra difficult to get building permits.
Magic use is very free, but laws on Necromancy are iffy, and very dependant on how and why it's being used.
Every Province has a ruler in it's largest city that rules over all settlements within it. These rulers are also, of course, ruled by the King/Queen and their councilors.
Racism is illegal, but it still happens, and is often left unpunished.
Killing with "just cause", even within city walls, will usually lead to a short investigation, but no consequence if the deceased party is found guilty.
The death penalty is absolutely a thing.
Worshipping evil deities is illegal, and punishable by death.
