Session 11: For Whom The Bell Tolls

General Summary

Monday, March 20, 2023

Just weeks ago you were all perfect strangers. By a happenstance meeting in a tavern in the southern city of Siris, you banded together to aid Blaze in reclaiming his stash. Stumbling upon his hideout, you encountered Ena Tradove, the captain of the gold cloaks, who arrested and supposedly executed him. Having been left behind, Varlog and Aired found a change of heart and defected from the gold cloaks. The next day, you found the remnants of Blaze’s family and went to go search for some lost friends of his wife. Stumbling among a not-so-quiet burial ground, you delved into the depths and found yourselves among a ritual held by a pack of gnolls. As you disturbed it, the Gnoll Fang—Thirk Crackedhammer, the leader of the ritual—used the combined life force of his underlings to awaken a dead dragon that didn’t quite form back all the way before he disappeared to leave you to die. But you didn’t, obviously, and resurfaced with the survivors. On your travels, you encountered the deck of many things and obtained several treasures and an ally before making your way to Ceres where you met Gobta and Gonzo, who asked for your help to take down Sir Godfrey Savil. You spent some time traveling by Sammy’s wind boat to Efrits, the hometown of Fen and Thorns. There, you found some allies in Daisy and Faarth as you killed Billy Joe in his malicious fighting pits. You then traveled to Archmouth where the town was enthralled with an arcane magic cast by Hay Will, who you discovered was a vampire. Just as you completed your objective there, there came news of a tragic attack from Tanglebrush. Having welcomed in the refugees from Tanglebrush, you spoke with the poet Halamar about information regarding the dragon. You found out that it was a young, bronze dragon and had fiery green eyes–which reminded you of the skeletal dragon you faced before with green fires from within its empty sockets. Gobta then called in and filled you in on the plan that was going to go down the next day. Stepping through a portal that Tara opened for you, you got the word out to your allies and returned back to Ceres. After debating the morals and ethics of whether you wanted to kill Godfrey Savil or not, you set out to find new outfits after returning your rentals. Absolutely dripped out in your own personal tastes of finery and a bit of punk, Thorns stole Joan’s dream dress for her. Especially after some weird, worrying, and puzzling things she has been saying, the shops were a good distraction. Settling down at a local tavern for the night, Theo wrote a letter home to their family, Fen gave Daisy some comfort and Joan tried to cheer Thorns up with a poem before you fell into sleep and into dreams. In them, Fen made and tasted a delicious cake, Theo found themselves back in a lecture hall about the mechanics of sorcery versus wizardry, and Thorns remained silent in the face of the mysterious woman who introduced herself as Loth, or Fate before the sound of alarm bells roused you from your sleep.
