Within the library, you finished your last bit of research. Thorns summoned Tekkdekk to hold a conversation about the tablet. He learned from Esoti’s journal that the tablet came into existence before a disaster that Esoti reported from a visit with Loth, while Tekkdekk revealed that he was involved in the destruction of the tablet. There had been some kind of exchange or deal between Loth and Tekkdekk wherein Tekkdekk’s end of the bargain resulted in the destruction of the tablet. Fen was breaking down the tablet’s riddle and wondered if something had to be given up for the tablet to work or if the tablet had been given up for something greater. Esoti revealed that it had been stored in the Draken Museum within the Smoldering Hall before Fyredel had been destroyed. Thorns wondered if the destruction of the kingdom had been concentrated into one area or confined within the kingdom’s borders or if it had spread across a large swath of land indiscriminately. This prompted Theo to turn into a spider to test out a newly learned spell that they proposed to use to gain altitude over the land. After he turned back into himself, the party left the Athenaeum, leaning Esoti behind, and made their way to the Radiant Keep. There, you encountered Winston Forester, the halfling steward, and you held an audience with Queen Roslyn. The court had inserted wax into their ears while you talked with Winston before you told him that you were explorers and researchers. Roslyn then addressed you directly and invited you to a dinner with her court that very night. She welcomed you to her guest quarters where you got ready-made tailored outfits and reunited with Swyndolyn, who was pledging his fealty to Roslyn and the kingdom of Sabrandom. Fen expressed their distrust of Swyn but Theo was curious to see their strange friend once again. You had convened in Theo’s room to debrief about what to talk about that night and you all agreed that no alcohol was a good idea, Theo would distract the court with their runed rock that they found in the Serene Shallows, and pretend you have lost interest in the Tablet altogether. At the sound of the dinner bell, Swyn knocked on your door and led you downstairs.
