Massacre at Swiftminster
The Massacre at Swiftminster was an event in which the Alfayan town of Swiftminster was burned to the ground, and most of the residents were kidnapped or killed.
Knowing they were outmatched, a knight stationed there sent a messenger to Kalon Palanin, who was visiting with his ailing grandmother at the time. The knights held off the raiders until they could no longer see, and without a stratagem from their commander, they became disoriented amidst the fire and darkness. By the time Kalon got there at nightfall, he had just enough time to watch a farmhand crawling out of a burning barn, only for them to die of their injuries in his arms. He then killed one of the perpetrators.
