Bulwark

Bulwark is a settlement on the border of Drivell, and a wall surrounds it. It is a slightly newer settlement, established around 50 years ago, but it is making strides as a normal town. It is often used to quarter-passing soldiers, and the locals feel rather comfortable doing so. For the most part, they believe that safety comes with trained protection, and they look respectfully at anyone who has served. There is a temple dedicated to Pakanga, even if it's not as elegant as some of the other ones.

Demographics

Halflings and elves inhabit this village, as it is a sanctuary to anyone who is too weak to protect themselves. Humans and orcs are generally seen on the watch as soldiers, and greet and farewell anyone who goes into or out of the city. Orcs and half-orcs hold higher positions, like Captain of the watch, due to not only their general bravery, but their strength compared to humans.

Government

The settlement is run jointly by Captain of the Watch and Officer of the People, which both oversee a critical part of daily life. COTW for military, and OOTP for people and bureaucracy. Below them are the ranks of soldiers, and finally trade people. The laws are mostly to protect the soldiers and focus on their wellbeing. Punishments for misconduct are limited though. For the most part, it is not a problem. Taxes are collected primarily from sold items on the market, which leaves permanent residents to pay very low taxes.

Defences

Regrettably, there is no.

Industry & Trade

Most of the revenue of the village comes from the Dew Drop Inn. Secondary are the trinkets and wares sold by individual merchants, some of which has to go to the town, as per the taxation policy.

Infrastructure

There are a couple of blacksmiths and shops. The biggest "accomplishment" is a windmill in the middle of the city. At the top, there is a room, for esteemed guests, like officials stopping for the night.

Assets

Dew Drop Inn

Small, restaurant on the outskirts of town. Grows their own food, so they can guarantee freshness. Recently established, it is struggling to gain acclaim, but gaining traction.

History

Before it was settled, it was an unofficial caravan stop, but after attracting some permanent residents, they decided they should make it into an official settlement, under the Hammond reign. Since then, travelers have used this village as a spot for gossip between passing caravans and merchants.

Architecture

It's mostly stone brick buildings dyed different colors, rich blue hues signifying the highest status. Officials' houses, the village hall, these are all marked by blue. Normal houses are merely a tone of deep gray.

Geography

This village borders the countries of Bandhor and Drivell, and sits in a badland. There are a couple of hills far off, but not enough to provide any sort of protection.
