LeMurian Institute

Lemurian Institute is a medical institute in North Ranthasha. It is located in the town of LeMurian itself, named after the school and its founder, Arthur LeMurian. It is the most prestigious school in Ranthasha, at least in terms of medical magic and the teaching of clerical work, especially since it is one of the only schools focused on medicine.

Structure

The headmaster is in charge of overseeing the curriculum and communicating with the faculty any changes in procedure. The headmaster has almost sole authority on the goings on, and it is a highly coveted role for the prestige and honor it brings to one's family.   The deans are directly below the headmaster, and form a sort of "council" or advisory board to the headmaster. They are each in charge of a specific portion of the school, typically one per building, and they provide information to the headmaster about the goings on in their respective building.   The professors fall directly below the deans and serve a similar purpose as they do to the headmaster. The professors in a certain building report problems, general news, or even the progress of certain students. They are also responsible for enforcing and following the curriculum.

Culture

This school also doubles as an "interfaith" church. Many gods and goddesses, even the minor ones, have shrines and sanctums sprinkled throughout the school's many buildings. For instance, Wiggum Hall is solely dedicated to housing various gods' sanctums and any related writings or artifacts.

Public Agenda

The stated mission of this school is healing through magic. Many of their graduates often also graduate as clerics, should they choose to dedicate themselves to faith rather than solely to studies. LeMurian is one of the best schools on the continent for medical studies and magic, and they often boast that their alumni have had the biggest impact on the world as a whole since the school's inception.

Assets

They have an extensive library of medical textbooks from the ancient era to the current day. They pride themselves on their collection and believe themselves to hold multiple one-of-a-kind works. Another part of this library is the "restricted" section, which holds many medical procedures or magic rituals which are deemed too dangerous for common use.

History

Lemurian began as a small settlement in Northern Ranthasha. It originally had a population of around 100, with about a quarter being united by the commonality of medicine. In 218, the first major building was erected, and the town quadrupled in size as more people came to study from some of the best traveling doctors
