First Wars

The First Wars broke out by chance, when Humans began hunting the Feyfolk for sport. May lives were lost subsequently during the break, when Feyfolk fucked off to Oblivion, and the remaining mythical creatures moved out of the Human's Surface World for safety.
A purge soon followed, as human-sympathizers were systematically killed for public display, to warn against breaking the Ancient Laws
