Government

Niere's government is an elective monarchy centered in the range's capital of Dashe. The elected monarch, or Nidzi, generally holds the position for life. The monarch is supported by a parliament of 40 representatives, one from each district of Niere. These representatives are usually people of importance such as community leaders or industry barons.

Defences

The main defense in Niere's arsenal is its natural height. Reaching it from the ground is a daunting and time consuming task, and anyone who gets close is usually met with defenses that rely on the mountain itself, such as catapults and artificial avalanches.

Industry & Trade

Niere's main export is energy, specifically wind and solar power, which they are uniquely suited to provide due to their high altitude. As the de-facto diplomatic meeting place and the largest range, they also bring in quite a bit of money from tourism.

Architecture

There are two distinct architectural styles in the Niere range. The older buildings in the suburbs and city outskirts are short, squat, and carved right out of the mountain in some cases, painted varying shades of purple and white to distinguish them from the grey of the surrounding rock. The newer buildings in the city center are towers made of metal and glass, about half of which is imported from Luze. These towers are rounded, symmetrical, and let lots of natural light into the outer rooms.
