Ásgardian
Basic Information
Anatomy
Ásgardians possess one head atop a torso with four limbs, two for walking and two for tactical operations. Their heads possess two eye sockets, one nose, a singular mouth, and two ears. The uppermost region of the skull, and occasionally the sides and front of the face, sprout hair in various lengths and colors. Five phalanges exist on both hands on both tactical limbs, with matching phalanges on both feet at the ends of both limbs for locomotion.
Genetics and Reproduction
Ásgardians reproduce sexually with the involvement of a Male and a Female. The Female Ásgardian incubates and grows the offspring for a period of three segments before birth. Ásgardians reach adulthood around the age of 57 apx. and reach the prime window for reproduction begins to close around the age of 81 apx.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Ásgardians existed in groups called Clans, composed of multiple family houses and organizations. At the bottom of the social ladder of a Clan were the Thrall class, working-class employees, slaves, and servants with no combat or technical skill to speak of. Above the Thrall was the Freeman, Ásgardians with some skill, technical craft, or special function within society like Raven-Priest and Seekers. Above the Freeman was the Earl, a prominent figure within the governing of the Clan and its politics, only Ásgardians of older age are allowed to join, valued for their wisdom and experience. The Earls are beneath the Konungir whom they advise on all matters of the Clan and its future. The Konungir is a single Ásgardian but serves their power to command from their Counicl of Earls.

Beauty Ideals
Ásgardians seem to prefer partners who bear some sort of physical proof of their valor; a scar across the chest, a missing eye, or even a missing limb, with a legendary tale surrounding it. It is not only proof of combat abilities and sacrifice, their ability to push on despite their pains, but also a signal of maturity. That being said, horribly disfigured individuals or handicapped beyond function are not seen in such a favorable light.
Gender Ideals
Males within Ásgardian society are thought of as possessing the "offensive" energy of creation while Females are thought of as the "defensive" energies of creation. This philosophy penetrates all manner of their society from courtship to battle tactics. Males are traditionally expected to initiate events and actions onto the Female, with blessings and permission from the patriarch of her clan. In a tactical environment, Males are expected to serve as the infantry force when laying siege to a Realm or defending from one while Females remain in a stronghold or hold-point and defend it from an opposing force.
Courtship Ideals
When courting another potential partner, the Male Ásgardian and his immediate male kinfolk were expected to appear before the patriarch of the Female Ásgardian's family and gain his blessing through some ritual of skill, power, or a combination of the two. Once this blessing was gained the Male Ásgardian in question needed to propose to their beloved, should the Female Ásgardian accept, the wedding would be confirmed.
On the wedding day, both clans would join for a traditional seven-day feast filled with partying and games to which all members of both clans are invited. Should certain members of the principal clan refuse an invitation, it is considered a sign of disrespect and disapproval of the wedding. On the final night, the newlyweds are brought to their chambers and consummate their wedding.
Relationship Ideals
Ásgardian relationships are traditionally heterosexual in nature as they believe the natural union of opposing energies; the offensive male energies and the defensive female energies, are crucial to creating a new being. Females reach their reproductive prime at an age past their young adult years, at a point where they should be hardened by a youth spent raiding and warring. This reasoning and genetic predisposition allow inferior genes to be naturally removed, ensuring only the strongest and most capable Ásgardians survive to an age where having children is socially acceptable.
Common Taboos
- A male courting a female without the knowledge and consent of either the patriarch of his Clan and the female's Clan
- Union with foreigners; "diluting the bloodline"
- Fragrant disrespect for elders
History
Ásgard is the native home of the Ásgardian people and was in forever turmoil before the Allfather intervened to make the Realm the Domain for him and his kinfolk. King Sölve bent the knee and surrendered to the Holy God and the Holy Order, and was rewarded with Earldom of the Realm Sliassadalar, where his lineage reside to this day. The Realm Glaðsheimr, the City of the Æsir was made the new capital of Asgard and has been the Allfather's Seat of Power ever since.
Historical Figures
- Legendary King Sölve; united the cosmos of Ásgard under his rule after years of in-fighting and civil war
- Shield-Maiden Brunhild; female warrior of Valkyrie-skill level renowned for her wisdom and power
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Ásgardians are known for many things, a liberal and open people is not one of them. They live under the leaves of the Allfather and among his kin the Æsir Gods, many of the Ásgardian people have the blood of the Æsir running through their veins. They are proud and dogmatic people who possess a certain fixation on a concept of "pure-bloodedness" among their kinfolk. Outsiders and foreigners are not welcome culturally and are met with suspicion. As an outsider, when dealing with an Ásgardian, it is best to be non-combative as they are also easily provoked, reactive people.
