Specialized Equipment

Jha'ka, the Hundred-Headed Hýdra: Bringer of Doom

Bālaia battled, defeated, and tamed a Hýdra named Jha'ka, a great beast with 100 heads, two more grow back where one was severed. Aside from its incredible regenerative powers and nigh-impervious scales, Jha'ka, like all of his kind, could breathe a poisonous gas with one head and emit electricity with another to ignite the gas, creating an explosion and setting the air ablaze. Additionally, Hýdras can hypnotize weak-willed beings, locking them in place or casting powerful illusions inside their own mind strong enough to affect the body.
Jha'ka was a great Hýdra, so large and immense that his saddle sported a small life pod that served as his master's home when on long journeys. Jha'ka was capable of traversing not only space but also the Realms, his roar powerful enough to summon the Bifröst. His scales were purple-green and after Bālaia blessed him with her magic, he was capable of breathing Aesoteric Flames on command as well as wielding the Emotional Matrix. When Bālaia rode him into combat he was named Jha'ka, the 100-Headed Doom, his fangs punctured armor, no mortal weapon could pierce his scales and his roar shook the heavens and made the blood of men run cold.

Bālaia's Wolf Pack

During her time as the Queen's Shadow to Queen Veryian Reyes and later as her Consort, Bālaia served in the Hunt and earned the favor of Patron Deity Artemis who bestowed her with the title of "Lunar Huntress of Artemis", a prestigious title as a favored hunter. With such a title came Boons and a pack (13) of Divine Wolfs bound to Bālaia's own SOUL. They were large grey wolves bearing the symbol of Artemis upon their head. Each Divine Wolf could track a being across the Realms but was also completely at the whim of their master, acting more as living magical tools than Familiar beings.
To illustrate this point, Bālaia turned 7 of her Divine Wolves into amulets imbued with her love and blessed by the Aesoteric Flames. 1 was given to her younger brother, Duke Santiago, 1 was given to her wife Veryian, and to each of her 5 children with Veryian. The Amulets bestowed a single Divine Wolf onto its new master, a wolf capable of now using the Emotional Matrix. Bālaia then took 3 more wolves and used them to create her Bāl-Bāl-Blasters, three celestial treasures manifested as wolf heads that consume magical energy, revert it to Raw Magical Energy, and release it as a highly concentrated beam of energy. Bālaia can summon them on command and uses them as heavy artillery. Of her remaining 3 wolves, 1 was killed during a Hunt and the remaining 2 serve at her side when summoned.
Magical Items or Celestial Treasures made from the Divine Wolves are extremely powerful as they possess the energy of a Divine Being (Artemis, in this case), and in this case, also possess the love of Bālaia El Pwen for her family.

Weapons of the 5th Arcane Lord

  • The Dawnbringer Celestial Bow: A great bow made from golden trees which fires golden rays of sunshine bright enough to pierce the Black Winter and faster than the eye can track. It was one of six divine weapons forged by Apollo, a God of Stars and Music, and a twin Deity to Artemis of the Hunt. Bālaia stole it from one of his fortified temples during the Great War in Heaven. If fully charged it can create supernovas upon impact it's light arrows, a result of being blessed by a Divine being.
  • Yynslyng: A long bow given to Bālaia by her sister Fátima who had a gift for Smithing. It is Bālaia's favorite bow and her oldest, bearing no special enchantments or attributes, nothing but a well-made bow forged from love and dedication.
  • The 5th Arcane Sword: A longsword that is the manifestation of Bālaia's SOUL, powerful and potent, but hardly used in combat and more as a symbol of her power and skill.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Bālaia is the 5th Arcane Lord, the first child of the 4th Arcane Lord, Bālavaun the Beast, the Chieftian El Pwen, a horde of marauders and barbains who loved war for the sake of war. Bālaia was raised by her mother Von in matters of war craft and sword play and when she and her siblings were old enough, they took up positions under the 28th Tribe Unmourned under the command of Eddard Reyes. Bālaia was prolific during the  war and known as the Hunting Tribeswoman for her love of the hunt and savory of the kill.

Education

Bālaia received her General Education from her mother Von and later a formal one from the Skáld Ifermis, a demigod of plagues and sickness. She was taught Philosophy, Literature, Arithmetic, Higher Reasoning, Science, and Technology and applied such knowledge on her travels during the Great War in Heaven. While under the command of Eddard Reyes, She learned the Art of War and proper war strategy, methods she would adapt and apply when developing her hunting style. Her mastery of the blade and the development of her own Sword Logic would be made during her sentence in The HYPERPRISON and later refined during her time as Consort of the Hunt to Veryian Reyes, Eddard's daughter.

Social

Contacts & Relations

  • Ochilysse Urimoira (Half-Sister)
Ochilysse is one of Bālavaun's many children, a daughter of the Dark Elf Queen Rosanhi who, with her siblings, conquered the Realm known as Bahiaron, renamed it to Black-Water, and established her family as royalty with House Urimoira. Ochilysse and Bālaia shared a close working relationship, with Ochilysse coming to train under Bālaia during the War to hone her magic and power with the Emotional Matrix. Ochilysse mastered everything her sister taught her and after Bālaia was imprisoned in the 4th Dimension, Lord Eddard Reyes left his command of the 28th Tribe Unmourned and Bālavaun elected Ochilysse to replace him.
Ochilysse commanded the 28th Tribe, and after that, she was also given command of the 71st Tribe Suspected, the 2nd Tribe Usurped, the 103rd Tribe Violated, the 41st Tribe Denied, and the 17th Tribe of Desolation. 6 Tribe Masters bent the knee to Ochilysse and she commanded a massive military force and a star fleet that inspired dread and terror in her enemies. Ochilysse used her immense wealth and power to expand her House and their Empire, allowing them to survive the War and come out of it wealthy and secure for future generations.
  • Eddard Reyes (Old Friend)
Eddard Reyes served under Bālavaun the Beast of Blackwater during the Great War in Heaven as commander of the 28th Tribe Unmourned. Eddard was a disgraced King's son banished from his home who fell in with Bālavaun and became one of his best allies during the war. Bālaia served under Eddard as his 2nd In Command and absorbed all of his teachings. Eddard was a Sword King and a master at the Art of War, it was a game to him and he loved to play. But more than a master, Eddard was the father Bālaia didn't have in her own father Bālavaun. He trained her in war, yes, but taught her the ways of the muses and instilled a love for poetry in her. Under his guidance, Bālaia the El Pwen bandit died and Bālaia the 5th Arcane Lord was made. The El Pwen Clan had a reputation as unwashed and uneducated roughens, but Eddard and his Tribe held themselves to a higher standard, and it was reflected in Bālaia.
  • Elspeth Upadhyay (Ex-Lover / Sister-In-Arms)
Elspeth was the daughter of Eddard's 1st wife during the war, Bhageerathi Upadhyay, and her father's 3rd In command right behind Bālaia in the chain of command. Elspeth and Bālaia were often charged with leading entire fleets by themselves as Eddard's most trusted generals and did so flawlessly, or as well as can be done in such a foul war. But, more importantly, she was Bālaia's first love and greatest loss. Elspeth was murdered by a Khaos God and defiled, coming back as Elspeth the Deflowered, a Khaos Knight leading her own Daemonik horde on creation. Bālaia was forced to engage her ex-lover but when it came time to cut Elspeth down, she failed and allowed her to defile a Yggtree and consume its heart to grow more powerful. The destruction of the Realm that Yggtree was in is a Crime Against the Multiverse and was laid at Bālaia's feet. The Gilded Court sentenced her to 500 Life-Long Sentences in the HYPERPRISON for her crimes, located in the 4th Dimension.
However, despite this prison sentence, she was eventually released by the Time Lords on the condition that she hunts down and slays Elspth the Deflowered. When finally released from the 4th Dimension, the Great War was long over, but Elspeth's work was just beginning. She was now a Lesser Khaos God herself and commanded a lineage of Khaos Princes, each one with a Daemonik horde to rule as well. However, while the forces of Khaos are numerous, they suffer from single points of failure. Bālaia began with the Princes themselves, hunting them down severing their heads, and killing all the Daemons they made in the process. Next were the Knights and the Dukes and Vanguard and the Daemon Guard. It took years, but Bālaia kept her word and hunted down Elspeth, and ended her reign. When the work was done the Time Lords gave her freedom for the price of the oceans of Khaos Blood and the ire of the Temple of Khaos.

The Midknight Hunt

Bālaia's Order of Knights was known as the Midknight Hunt, formed after her service began to House Reyes of the Hunt. Bālaia was Captain of the Queensguard, but those Knights were ultimately loyal to Veryian, she also commanded her own Legion of House Huntsmen, but they were tied up in laws and regulations, the Midknight Hunt was her own personal force, hand-picked by Bālaia to only obey her will. The Midknight Hunt numbered fewer than 100 and accompanied their Master on all of her Hunts. When Bālaia departed to resolve the Desolation plaguing Yggdrasil, she took only them and her daughter Princess Laia-Rosa with her and journeyed into the unknown.

History

Bālaia was a veteran of the Great War in Heaven, lost in the 4th Dimension battling with the Time-Lords for her freedom from the HYPERPRISON. She was good friends with Lord Eddard, the Head of the Hunt before his daughter, Veryian, who contracted her for her services and name as both an Arcane Lord and a veteran of the worst war to shake creation. Bālaia served her Queen as the Queen's Shadow and then as the Queen's Consort and together they sired 5 children before Veryian's death, taken by the Desolation. Bālaia, so stricken with grief, would embark into the infinite branches of Yggdrasil to cure the Desolation, on the slim chance of seeing her lover one last time.
