The Demon Wastes

Dwarven and Dragonborn histories still tell, in no definite terms, of the Archons who once ruled over Khorvaire in the Age of Earth. The strange ruins and fiendish monstrosities that can be found throughout the Demon Wastes are widely believed to be remnants and clues as to their true nature as well as the cause of their fall. The Demon Wastes are a horrible landscape of lava, black sand and volcanic glass, a strange blood-red moss the only vegetation. Some truly desperate souls have formed a colony, Blood Crescent, on its shore; otherwise, it remains inhabited only by the twisted hordes known as the The Carrion Tribes, a savage and cruel people thought to be descended from explorers and refugees twisted by the evil that lives throughout the wastes.
