The Last War

The Mourning robbed The Union of Helleya of its ruling family and left in its wake a huge power vacuum and great suspicion from all sides as to who was behind the atrocity. 
The Five Nations all blamed and turned on each other, vying for power and scared of what their future held. The war lasted decades with different alliances forming and dissolving throughout, no one nation ever holding enough power to declare themselves victorious. 
In the end, there was no great decisive battle that won it all. The leaders and their people grew tired and desperate. A ceasefire was called and, together with the other major actors across Khorvaire, The Thronehold Concord was ratified, shaping the continents geopolitical landscape for years to come.
