Amarok Clemency SH-Revolver
Written by: Ripshot
So if any of you watch the local news (god knows why), you might've seen controversy-peddler Kip Jones talk at length about this gun being the new thing for soccer-moms to worry about, on account of it being able to, and I quote: "Bring down an armored police chopper in one shot.." Now we all know that's a load of drek, but we also know that the most believable lies are the ones that have some truth in 'em, which brings us to what this new revolver from Amarok Pro-Hunting is all about, and why it's got the entirety Raleigh's HOAs clamoring for more gun-control. The Clemency's a double-action revolver designed as a compact alternative to carrying a whole-ass rifle to defend against wild animal attacks. The five-round cylinder's fixed and has to be reloaded oldschool-style with an actuated loading gate, on account of the structural accomodations and reinforcements needed for a second breech-loaded barrel sitting on top, chambered in the juicy .475 Amarok-Express cartridge. kind of like a reverse LeMat, only cooler. You only get one shot with this bad boy, and recoil is gonna break your arm if you're not built like a dump-truck, but it hits exactly as hard as a cartridge as beefy as that ought to.The Clemency's as heavy as you'd expect it to be, but the weight works in its advantage for recoil mitigation. Or pistol whipping, if that's your thing, you could cave someone's head in with the barrel and still shoot straight. So it's still not living up to the claim of downing armored helicopters in a couple of hits, but the point is that this thing still hits unexpectedly hard for its profile, and unlike other handguns of its size you still have five shots of a respectable heavy-revolver cartridge before you have to think about reloading. My personal would be filling the cylinder with flechette or gel rounds for clearing out the trash, and the upper barrel with a solid-core penetrator for when you really want something to take the hint.
Gotta disagree on the flechettes: only company that makes 'em in large quantities for the Clemency's caliber is Knightrunner Munitions, and their QA is spotty as drek. Loading this thing's enough of a pain with the fixed gate, but trying to clear a squib in a firefight? Just kill me, it'll be faster.
Eh, reloading's not so bad 'cause of the automated ejector. Just half-cock the hammer and give the cylinder a spin, it'll flick all the cartridges out in short order and look cool as hell.
