Amarok Tusk PAS

Written by: Ripshot

Let's be real, omae: Automatic shotguns are the way of the future. You just can't beat emptying a drum-mag of flechettes into a crowd of squishy, squishy gangers. But while they've cemented themselves as the industry standard, pump-action shotguns are still gonna be around for a long, long while, and who can blame 'em? They're cheaper, more reliable, and nothing beats the satisfaction of hearing 'Chr-CHK' manually chambering in a new shell.   And it seems I'm not the only one who feels this way, since Amarok Pro-Hunting are releasing a new pump-action bullpup called the Tusk, and it is a delightfully chunky piece of kit. All the space that would go into automatic cycling has instead been put towards recoil-compensation and chamber reinforcement, letting this thing handle some really high-pressure loads that'll crack open your typical Defiance. It's big, it's ugly, it's got no features except an accessory-rail and an optional ammo counter, but the damn thing hits like a truck. It hits like I hit, and that's not something I say a lot.
So who's the target demographic for these things? Even hunters prefer an autoshotgun for the bigger critters, these days.

In my opinion? Truckers, boaters, hazmat workers, people who don't usually use guns but want something that can gather dust or get dragged through the drek and still liquify a nasty critter just as fine. I could see these getting popular among Barrens dwellers with more cash to burn, if I'm honest.

It's also popular as a trunk gun for patrol cops and detectives for the same reasons. The high-pressure loads don't hurt when you're facing down perps with chrome, either.

These things are hitting Raleigh's shelves before the rest of the CAS 'cause of a few greased palms getting us a 'city-wide early access', and since it's a bog-standard pump-action, it's got a whole lot less red tape than other gats in its weight-class. Only problem are the shells: 4-gauges aren't exactly as abundant as your garden-variety shells, so at the very least you're gonna want to brush up on your handloading skills to get your money's worth. While you're at it, have a gunsmith fit some more shock-absorbtion for your shoulder, you'll thank me later.
Just a heads-up too: This thing's got a pretty feeble extractor, shells just kind of tumble out, and since you're gonna be running hotter loads with this thing (if you aren't, why are you even using it?), you're gonna want to wear sleeves. Upside is that the extraction's also made to easily be converted for left-handed shooters, so they don't feel left out in getting their arms burnt to shit.
