Aoyama Fudo
Mr. Fudo Aoyama
Written by: Null Kit
If there was ever a remotely effective method to deter the youth of Japan from getting involved in any sort of gang or god forbid, the Yakuza themselves, it would have been Aoyama Fudo's biography. At least, that was the case fifteen years ago. When a contract for procuring information on Aoyama Fudo was opened, it was initially considered something of a milk-run - after all, the Yakuza has a unique precedence of making its existence a publically-known matter, going so far as having public-relation firms and charity events - but an unexpected difficulty arose: There simply wasn't much to write about the man before his arrival in Raleigh. Despite having been a recognized member of the Yamaguchi-clan for well over seventy years, the man's criminal career has up until recently been completely unremarkable white-collar accounting, only truly seeing any relevance in the past fifteen-ish years. But let's put the past aside: Presently, Aoyama Fudo has risen to prominence as one of Raleigh's more influencial underworld figures, having founded and brought the Aoyama-Gumi syndicate up from an unremarkable collection of Yamaguchi grunts and angry warehouse workers to a strong deterrance against any who would seek to take control of the city's uptown industrial areas from the Japanese. In person, Aoyama has been described as having a 'stern but fatherly' attitude to his subordinates and is very affable to outsiders by the standards of career-criminals. In particular, he appears to have a soft-spot for those who have worked hard for years and been rewarded with little more than more years to continue working hard, a situation he claims to be sympathetic to. As an employer, Fudo can be quite the equal-opportunist compared to other Oyabuns, though he makes no effort to hide his stated preference for dealing with Japanese men, and makes it a point of pride to always follow through with his promises and deals. At the end of the day however, he is still Yakuza, and so it should come to no surprise that those who cross him or prove to be a liability will see the smiling old man replaced with a cold-blooded mob-boss, more than willing to make an example of his enemies through every underhanded means available to him.Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Although rumors of Leonization are as of yet inconclusive, it cannot be denied that Mr. Fudo looks shockingly youthful for a man in his early nineties, either as a result of reivitalising therapies or cosmetic surgeries. Otherwise, Fuda's physical condition is fairly typical for a white-collar criminal in his nineties, with synthetic musculature doing the lion's share of keeping his aged body up and multiple datajacks linked to seperate, standalone cyberware and datalocks to maximize his efficiency and discretion in white-collar criminal activities.

Personal history
Fudo was born all the way back in 1989, to parents Kimoto and Watabe Aoyama. As Watabe was already an enforcer for the Yamaguchi, it came to no surprise that Fudo would follow in his father's foosteps, quickly earning himself numerous citations and misdemeanor charges for delinquency as a student. Naturally, being the son of an important Oyabun's right-hand man, Fudo was able to graduate high-school with full honors despite his record of trouble, as few were willing to provoke an international crime syndicate to say otherwise.
Past high-school, Fudo worked sporadically at various minimum-wage enterprises whilst begining his initiation into organised crime in earnest, running errands and acting as exta muscle on the few occasions the Yamaguchi would stoop to physical intimidation. Despite his physical prowess however, what truly interested the Yamaguchi would be his budding talents in accounting, a strange focus until you remember how much of the Yakuza's income is rooted in white-collar criminal dealings. Fudo showed legitimate talent in both bookkeeping and the social-engineering to pass said bookkeeping off as legitimate, and with his father's connections he had found himself involved in the Yakuza's robust accounting-wing before his twentieth birthday.
And then... Nothing really happened. Despite the many upheavals of the world - the awakening, the Shiawase Decision, the Great Crash - Fudo never really left his position as another cog in the Yakuza's bookkeeping-machine. He occasionally recieved accolades, was present in numerous official and unofficial photographs, and on occasion was given subordinates, but over the decades he never really did anything to stand out from the crowd, and so even as he passed retirement-age Fudo continued balancing the same books and fudging the same numbers, and despite never really succeeding he never really quit at it either. It seemed that he was about to be a cautionary tale on the banal reality of white-collar crime.
All of that changed however, in the aftermath of Crash 2.0, when a higher-up in the Yamaguchi clan reacted to his online information being lost by deleting as much illicit data he had access to before comitting suicide by grenade, which coincidentally stranded Fuda and a group of his subordinates overseas in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Strangely, despite his previous unassertiveness this unfortunate circumstance appeared to spark what little remained of the fiery passion Fuda had in his youth, and within a relatively short amount of time not only did he manage to ensure the survival of himself and his crew after being cut off from their lines of support overseas, but manages to gain an impressive foothold in Raleigh on behalf of the Yamaguchi, an act which impressed his superiors enough when they finally regained contact that he was given permission to found his own clan, the Aoyama-Gumi.
This success however, did not come easy. Fudo was a veteran Yakuza, but the overwhelming majority of his criminal experience as a pencil-pusher in Japan did little to help him in a country as different from Japan as the CAS. It was only when he began compromising on the traditions of the clans and began allowing foreigners and (gasp!) women into his clan that his hidden talents began to shine.
Presently, Aoyama Fuda resides in The Lucky Sailor Sushi-Hut, the first property he claimed for his clan and which serves as the primary front for his activities, allowing Fuda to mingle with the almost-rich-and-famous under the persona of a succesful restaurant owner. Evidentally, the man is looking to make up for all the time spent in accounting by occasionally participating in the more violent activities of his clan, confident in the abilities of his newfound pupil and subordinate Yasuke to protect him from the consequences of such.
Education
High-school graduate.
Employment
Currently the finance-director and 'staff delegate' of The Lucky Sailor Sushi-Hut.
Relationships
History
Whenever Aoyama leaves the safety of his territory, his pupil Yasuke follows him like a shadow. In spite of the demographic differences, the two appear to have a substantial rapport with oneanother, as Yasuke practically sings praises of his master and Fudo himself isn't slow in complimenting the skills of his student.
