Chimes
Ms. Juline Chayer (a.k.a. Chimes)
Written by: Null Kit
Of all the aberrations of biology that emerged after the Awakening, Otaku and Technomancers are the ones that both captivate and disturb me the most. There's simply no plausible explanation for how a nervous-system could develop an innate ability to interface with something so disconnected from nature and biology as the matrix. But I digress, as the fear of the unknown is the mother of all prejudice. Back on track: Chimes is a rookie shadowrunner, new to the scene of Raleigh with only a pair of milk-runs under her belt. In spite of her inexperience however, she has shown promise as a source of matrix support and defence for her teammates, as well as a nominally competant gunman on the occasion that fighting has broken out.Word of warning, I keep a standing bounty on anyone who takes advantage of this data-cache to sell out technomancers. Use your head, or lose it.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Chayer's physical condition is typical of a healthy, albeit sedentary, woman in her late twenties/early thirties. The only medical anomaly of note is a set of metal screws implanted in her right thigh-bone, determined to be a makeshift treatment for a broken bone.

Personal history
Perhaps as a natural consequence of technomancy or as a response to such, almost everything of Chimes' personal information prior to 2075 was wiped from online databases, leaving only personal correspondance and information created afterwards to work with. What little information I can solicit personally is that this woman is indeed a native of Raleigh as she claims to be, and her name was in fact Cyrielle Soulières. Evidentally, when word broke out that she was a technomancer, Cyrielle made the extreme but ultimately prudent decision of attaining false identities for her entire immediate familty of a wife and two children, sending them north to the UCAS while she dropped off the radar and dissapeared off of records completely.
So far, the source of whatever was able to procure SiNs for a family of three as well as erase Soulières's names from digital records of the time is currently unknown, and while she is inexperienced with using her abilities I'm not even sure I can discount Chimes herself as a possibility, because... well, technomancy has done stranger things.Whatever her past, she appeared to be at least liked enough in her local community that even after she was ousted as a technomancer she's been able to find means of living and employment under a new alias of Juline Chayer, as a cook at Mae's Grub-Hub. The restaurant owner, Mae Wilson-Hancock, is a small-time fixer in Raleigh's underground with just enough pull with Lone Star that he can avoid her employers getting their SINs scrutinised so long as she keeps donating to the policeman's ball on the regular.
The place is mainly kept afloat by laundering cash on behalf of others, but the food's actually pretty good. I'd go there more if they actually cleaned their tables more often...Understandably, Chayer's disposable income was limited by virtue of her wages being garnished for her employer's police-bribes. This, along with the lack opportunity to make use of the talents that had her exiled from legitimate society led to Chayer seeking employment on the side, which in turn led her to be taken on as a subcontractor by The Cabinet for a data-grab involving the unsettlingly diplomatic Coldbrand, leader of The Howling Blades. After a succesful albeit unremarkable run, Chayer was kept on retainer for subsequent small-time runs, along with provisional access to this DataCache. Time will tell if this is the begining of a prosperous career in shadowrunning.
Mighty generous of Null Kit and the Barkeep to give someone so green access to this here Datacache after just one milk-run. What's the catch?
Chimes needed some info kept in the cache's restricted archives for reasons I'm not at liberty to divulge right now. The data was worth more than Chimes could reasonably be expected to pay in the time it would remain pertinent but some negotiation, I decided that a couple of favors owed by Chimes would work as alternative payment.
And those favors are?
He had me provoke a de-fanged copy of the Datacache's IC to see how it holds up against technomancers (painfully well, we concluded). Jury's out on if he's holding out on the second favor for a rainy day or just likes holding it over my head for its own sake...
Education
Chayer claims to be a full high-school graduate and to have once held a degree in culinary arts. Neither can be verified due to the erasure of older records.
Employment
Chayer is currently employed as a line-cook at Mae's Grub-Hub.
Morality & Philosophy
As is typical with rookie shadowrunners, Chimes shows an attitude archetypical of so-called 'hoods', desiring positive societal change from the result of their criminal-mercenary activities. We'll see if this holds.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
As of this writing, Chayer's motivations primarily focus on the short-term of securing a new life and securing a safe line of contact with her former family.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Chayer is a technomancer, able to interface and communicate with the matrix without any equipment or implant. Due to my own lack of experience in dealing with technomancers, I'm unable to properly judge her capabilities in manupulating the so-called 'Resonance', but conferencing with what few other technomancers I know would have me believe her talent to be noteworthy. While Chayer has shown some degree of competance in social situations, her inexperience with the innately deceptive and dishonest dealings in the underworld is very apparent, necessitating leaving a portion of her savings with a friend owing to all the times she's been swindled from so-called charities and veterans.
