Big Roy  blinked and turned towards the young Channel 62 reporter. "Er... what's that, missy?"
"Well, Mr. Mayor," Phoebe said, "it looks like Amanda Perry is going to take the outer suburbs and she's rising quickly in East Town. Does that concern you at all?"
The mayor gripped the podium tighter and shot a glance back to his campaign manager. Then he turned back to the reporters and forced a smile. "Not at all. Listen, I've got the experience this city needs. I'm sure Ms. Perry is a smart gal, but she's just a kid. She's popular with the younger folk, sure... but the ones that know what this city really needs... they know I'm the right man for the job. Thank you."
With that he stepped away from the podium as the handful of reporters shouted their last attempts at asking another question.
He ushered his campaign team into his office, "Herb, what the hell--" and the door slammed shut.
