Samael

Samael (a.k.a. Nickname or Alias?)

Samael was a businessman and a single? father prior to his embrace. In 2002, when his business fell on hard times, a charming man with a dominating personality, Tristan Miles, offered Samael a chance to save his business and himself. Only too late did Samael realize he was making a deal with the devil.   Tristan taught him to manipulate like no other, and then when the time was right, made good on his final offer of "success". He embraced Samael into Clan Ventrue, and with it, the supernatural ability to dominate others. How can you fail when people do whatever you want? If power corrupts, Samael found himself corrupted absolutely. Only too late did he realize his passions left his daughter, Jennifer Collins, lost in the wake of his dealings.   It wasn't until Samael had a brush with the local baron, Ian Colt, did he realize how far he had fallen, and how much further he could go. Ian Colt's casual cruelty put Samael to shame and reminded him of what a monster really looked like. In desperation, he sought out someone who could help him find his humanity... why not another human who deals with human problems? Therapist Donna Harvey worked late hours, and suddenly found herself with a lot more work. In "midnight sessions", she helped Samael over the following months find his way back to humanity. Mostly.   Something Struck him in their sessions. He discussed his daughter, and realized the void he had in himself. He realized Regina Wasser, the kindred he had been grooming in the Sanctum, was filling that void. It wasn't enough. He needed to find his daughter. But it had been 18 years now. Where to begin?   He founded a private detective agency with two goals in mind. Produce easy victims, and track down his daughter. He hired on Frederick "Freddie" Hall, a down-on-his-luck chump, to work has his daytime receptionist. He later, in a moment of carelessness, let Freddie in on the larger world. Freddie, desperate, begged to become a vampire. Samael promised him that if he performed well, he would consider it.   Samael broke many people, including his daughter's old friend, Nancy Solomon. To this day she is a vegetable at Duke University Medical Hospital, her mind fragmented by his power in search for his daughter. His first client, however, was lucky. Grace Lewis, an older woman who had lost her husband and was caught up in a difficult legal battle over his estate, turned up desperate to Samael's business. He helped her, forcing the lawyer to cede to Grace's demands. Since then, she has touted him as her savior and let everyone she sees know how helpful he can be.   Samael is still looking for his daughter. He disappeared, and so did she. But he'll find her... after all... no one says "No" to Samael.
