Sciorta, the Storykeeper

Without documentation anyone can manipulate events to their own liking. It is a necessity for an accurate record of time to be taken, however, it is not necessary for that truth to be known.   ~Sciorta the Storykeeper

Sciorta, Platinum Dragon

Long before the world shattered, Sciorta, born of the old Dragon Lord, loved to explore. Born wingless Sciorta was forced to disguise themselves as a mortal. What other dragons saw as a curse, Sciorta knew was a blessing. Although they had no wings, they were able to see the world from the eyes of those who lived in it. They basked in the rise and fall of kingdoms and prided themselves in being at every major historical event. It was not until the death of The Godmother that they realized how quickly history can be lost.   As Famush raged and the world split, the mortals around Sciorta perished. Their lives, their thoughts, and their histories were lost along with them. It was at this moment that Sciorta realized they were the only ones capable and responsible for tracking what happens within this realm. Sciorta took it upon themselves to become the one and only true Storykeeper.

The Storykeepers

Throughout time many great historians have come and gone. Those who dedicated their lives to the documentation of the world are granted the title of Storykeeper. This ancient faction has become famous for the many scholars who have recorded some of the most prominent points in history.   To this day students at the Mage’s College and many libraries around the world hold their writings in high regard. Storykeeper Siluvas is one of the most famous members, having used magic to view the shattering of the world. His fourteen-part series is known for the most accurate depictions of the death of Danova and the world prior to the shattering.   Unbeknownst to the population there is in fact no organization of storykeepers. There only exists one, Sciorta the Storykeeper. In order to protect their identity Sciorta has changed forms and names dozens of times. For they are the only true unbiased observer of the world.

Isolation

During the The Second Great Fire of Macarish, Sciorta was forced to evacuate the city. Using their magic they transported their grand library with them. Isolating it from the influence of the rest of the world. In order to continue to document the world Sciorta was forced to change their methods of research. Finding scholars and adventurers throughout the world, Sciorta offers them sanctuary within the library in exchange for knowledge of the outside world.   Sciorta destains this method of research but in order to preserve history they view it as a necessity. For if the Storykeeper were to die the magic contained within the library would collapse, banishing all its writing to the void below.
