Mbala

Mbala was once the seat of a small kingdom, with the king and royalty living in Upper Mbala and the peasants living at the base of the plateau.   Most of the structures in lower Mbala were wood and thatch, and they’re now just crumbling compost heaps demolished by rain, wind, and time. A few stone foundations and overgrown ramps poke up through the debris, indicating this was more than just a simple village.   The upper city sat atop a great plateau, connected to the ground with a series of switchbacks carved into the cliff face.
