Rashaad ibn Karim al-Tahir
Descendant of a wealthy and powerful Nizamish family that once helped in occupying Port Nyanzaru. Rashaad's seat of power lies within his family's stronghold of Fort Tajar which lies on the northeastern edge of Marakuru.
On the upper level of the fort is a chamber that hosted a teleportation circle that linked the fortress to the al-Tahir residence of Daha Shabai in the Market Ward of Port Nyanzaru. This magical portal allowed the secretive transfer of people and goods between the two locations without drawing attention.

Being a successful merchant backed by generational wealth, Rashaad has many allies and contacts within Port Nyanzaru and beyond. Among his most loyal servants are Sayid al-Qaar and Lumusi. He also was the master of Verog, an ogre magi that was bound to serve his family generations ago.
Recently it has come to light that Rashaad has several nefarious connections. He has been in league with a trio of pirate captains operating out of a hidden cove in Jahaka Bay. The deal between Rashaad and the pirates was one that saw the corsairs attack rival merchant ships while leaving his unmolested. Additionally, Rashaad and his predecessors had secretly been serving the fallen bara of Mezro, Ras Nsi.
