The Devourer

A figure drawn from the darkest folk tales and children's stories, the Devourer is often the first thing on people's lips when they fear evil is afoot. This name for the darkness is a new one though, as it was first brought to Asturia by the mysterious Luril from deep within the Shining Peaks. They claim that the Devourer is their ancient enemy and that it festers in the great forest that lies beyond their mountains to the north.
It was from those very mountains that the Devourer's army marched south and invaded Asturia during the Shadow War five years ago. Since that time, no more undead abominations have shambled out of the mountains. But people fear that he is now whispering to them in their dreams on a Black Wind, and claiming their very souls by afflicting them with The Mark.
