Archmage Ialomir of Lutianen
This archmage follows the Magical Way of Creation. He is a "creationist" (or "creator" we find both expression in Altair's texts).
Ialomir reached the apex of his existence as a mage at the age of 22 year, and was reaching the age of 40 by the time when Altair reached Sharitarn (Earthling year of 2090). His parents are Sailor Caste.
His family don't worked as fisherman by the time when Ialomir was born they had a passengers boat and a concession to work in tourism. Transporting Lutianien to the touristic villages on North Coast and back. Ialomir is the only person born with magic potential in his father's lineage in the recent 200 thousand years, and he has no noticeable mage ancestor to speak about.
The younger archmage of Lutianen is has light copper skin, black hair, and facial traces that immediately identify him as a low Caste lutianien, and as a Sailor Caste. Far from consider that shameful he surrounds himself by symbols of Sailor Caste, and dresses as a sailor most the time. Mixing the stile of this birth caste with the color of his actual caste, and the necessary insignia of his position, when protocol demands it.
Neither a tall man nor a small one, he is athletic for someone who does mostly intellectual work and magic rituals all day, most days.
"Man speaks like a Warrior!" is the usual comment between those who met the archmage. If that is a happy surprise of a outraged protest depends on who is making the comment. In both cases the comment acknowledge the simple and direct manners of Ialomir, sometimes the archmage is even rude; what among the high castes is a exclusive right of Warriors.
He loves ships, boats, and anything related to the sea. Also has a deep respect for the barbaric tribes of Kailau Mountains.
Goes without saying that Ialomir is a genius. Reach the status of archmage at any age is enough to earn one that adjective. Endure the Third Test in the early 20's is nothing less than epic.
All Mage Castes admitted their surprise when the boy came back alive from Urshawa. No one felt more surprised by that than archmage Bidhai, who had invested a considerable amount of resources and influence in the project of have Ialomir murdered somewhere between Lutianen and Urshawa. The creationist do realized what happened but did not moved a campaign against the older archmage.
Bindhai is more than powerful enough to kill Ialomir in a fair duel. He is probably powerful enough as an archmage to win a fight against both other archmages, Ialomir and Faengor, at same time.
All his life Ialomir saw Faengor confront Bindhai in all possible ways, except open duel. He understands what motivates other Faengor but unlike the soothsayer Ialomir has no stomach for politics. He kept a sort of diplomatic neutrality between the older and more powerful archmages. So he could focus attention in develop his magical researches.
Ialomir is a creator of autonomous constructs. Altair translates the word used for creationists who specialize in this field as "golemite" referring to the Earthling myths about golems. Sharitarne golemites are unusual, is not seemed as a practical choice. This otherwise objective and square Mage Caste choose such a dainty focus of interest is a impossible contradiction in the eyes of most Mage Castes. Usually golemites look nothing like Ialomir, they are the most spoiled, smug, former Noble Castes you would find in Lutianen Mage Caste. And those in other nations do not fall very far from that three. On the other hand, no smugness will deny the accomplishments of Ialomir in the field he has chosen. He actually created a sentient and self replicating specie. No other mage on Sharitarn has achieved that in recent Ages (and each Age lasts about 100 thousand years).
