Kingdom of Kholia

Occupying the territory surrounding the lower half of the Gimfey river in Southeastern Orwynn, the Kingdom of Kholia claims approximately 400 square miles from the Eastern coastlines westward.

Structure

Kholia is a traditional feudal system with the King at the top and under him are the various nobles who themselves have noble vassals. Each is expected to pay tithes to their lord (taxes) and provider soldiers during a call to arms. In return the lord provides protection to their vassals and assistance when needed.

Territories

Kholia claims territory from the eastern coastline at the end of the Grimfey river to approximately 400 miles West in the area surrounding the river. This is predominantly rolling grasslands with sporadic dense wooded areas along with a number of large swamplands around slow moving areas of the river.

Technological Level

Kholia’s breeding programs are what give it an military edge as well as a source of income. While best known for their horses, Kholia’s breeders also breed dogs, hippogriffs, Owlbears, and many other animals. It keeps much of its capabilities in this area a secret but makes consumer level mounts and companions for export to customers all over Orwynn, the northern parts of Iolathe, and Southern Wyndmeare.

Religion

Like many kingdoms, Kholia does not have a single, official state religion. Instead, they have a variety of religions practiced throughout the kingdom, with the dominant religions being to Phoana, Morva, and Kelora.

Foreign Relations

Kholia is trading partners with most of it’s neighbors, and has a strong history with Agosia due to them being the principal supplier of ores and metals for Kholia.

Agriculture & Industry

Kholia has rich farmlands courtesy of the Grimfey river and overall pleasant climate. Situated on large rolling plains with patches of densely wooded areas, Kholia’s primary industry is agriculture and livestock. They are best known for their horse breeding though. Kholia Chargers (horses used for their cavalry units) are the envy of kingdoms far and wide.

Trade & Transport

Goods are traded primarily along the Grimfey river, coming in either from the kingdom of Agosia or From the Southern kingdoms below below Grimfey lake. Goods are transported overland and across the ocean as well, though Kholia’s shipping lanes are not nearly as extensive as Agosia.
