Nessia
Nessia is a kingdom with bountiful blessings. Controlling approximately 5600 square miles of territory in the Eastern part of the Agosia region, their Northern border ends at the Surrath river on, the Dim Weald lies on the western border and their Southern border is almost to the Grimfey river. They have access to fertile plains, the river, and the Dim Weald itself.
Nessia has three major cities: Nessus, the capitol, Statham on the Surrath river, and Fallkirk near their southwestern border.
Nessia is best known for their breeding programs for horses and for dogs. A Nessian charger is a battle ready mount standing 6.5-7 feet tall at the shoulder capable of easily carrying a knight if full plate armor. They are highly prized not only for their strength and endurance, but also for their intelligence.
Nessian war dogs are equally well known in the region and have been bred for many generations for strength, intelligence, loyalty, and fighting ability. They are easily capable of taking on many of the monsters that roam the lands and are heavily used in the Nessian military as well as the city guard.
Nessia has long been at peace with its neighbors in the region until 7 years ago with the crowning of King Stom Bloodthorne. Since then, there has been a notable expansion of the military, building of new forts along the Agosian and Wrynhausian borders, and general distrust of outsiders.
Structure
Nessia is based on a traditional feudal system.
Culture
Nessians are known to be prickly in nature, as they are easily offended and quick to fight. They have a strong sense of nationalism and are happy to tell others of the accomplishments of their great kingdom. Nessian chargers and war dogs are treated as honored members of the society and given great respect by the general populace.
History
Nessia, like most of the modern nations, is built on the ruins of an older nation, which in turn was built on the ruins of an even older civilization. Before Elvenfall, these lands were once the home of the Aena Kenora, one of the many elven tribes that were wiped out during the war of the Elves. Upon the bones of the Aena Kenora, multiple other people and races made their homes on these fertile lands but most were gone after a few decades.
During the Golden Aeon, a champion of the god, Edos called founded the city of Duurnbekar (Break of Dawn). The city thrived and the kingdom of Duurn Edos began. An expansionist kingdom (only natural under the champion and rule of Edos), it expanded and grew, conquering neighboring cities and nations up until the Chaos Wars. Duurn Edos rallied with the forces of opposed to Chaos. Duurn Edos collapsed when the forces of Chaos subverted the city of Duurnbekar causing revolt and anarchy until the city was razed to the ground.
From the ashes of Duurnbekar Nessus was founded Nessus Bloodthorne in the year 1602 at the tail end of the Chaos Wars. The Bloodthorne's have ruled Nessus unbroken to the present day.
Religion
The official religion of the Kingdom is that of Edos, and he is revered as first among the gods. Freedom of religion is allowed though it does not extend to the dark or evil gods. Worship of these gods is considered blasphemous and punishable by death.
Foreign Relations
Under King Stom's rule, Nessia has become increasingly militaristic and tensions with Agosia and Wyrnhaus are strained. Nessia continues to run military maneuvers near their neighbor's borders and has built defensive forts at strategic locations on those borders.
While there has been no active declaration of hostility, rumors abound that war could be on the horizon.
Agriculture & Industry
Nessia is best known for it's horse and dog breeding programs, which produce what are arguably known as the finest animals of their kind on the continent.
However, they are also well known for the high quality honey, cattle, and agriculture.
Trade & Transport
King Bloodthorne has invested in quality roads connecting the three major cities and though not as high quality, decent roads for transport to major towns in the Kingdom.
The city of Statham serves as a trade hub for river traffic coming from Agosia down the Surrath river and also as a port for Nessian goods to travel farther East via the river. Though increasingly isolationist, Nessia still trades honey, cattle, and some rarer agricultural goods out of Statham.

Nessia does not have good access to mining, though it does have a few mines that provide iron and copper ore. Nessia has traditionally imported these from Agosia or from Kattan from merchants willing to make the long journey down the Talos river, across Grimwater lake, and along the edge of the southeastern end of the Dim Weald.
