Lorenzo de Sanctis

Lorenzo de Sanctis is the Prince of Velicia and current head of the de Sanctis family.  He is a younger man in his mid twenties, and prefers to induldge his vices, in celebraation of Velician traditions.

His family was in power during the transition from Velicia as an independant city state to being a part of the Celestine Empire.  The previous ruling family, the Morello, was ousted by the de Sanctis' when they failed repeatidly to adequetly defend the city and the villages under its protection from warlords and roving bands of demons.  The de Sanctis family was able to negociate aide from the Imperial City, in exchange for fealty, as well as being given the divine right to rule over the city.  The other powerful families of Velicia at first protested this, however, aided by the Empire's reserves of gold, the de Sanctis was able to convince the other families of the benefits of such a relationship.
