Saint Tayla Rainwood

A female Runidiri who became an avid follower of Celestine and the first and only elven saint. She attempted to bring the Celestine religion to the elves of Dol Gorak, but was unsuccessful. Through much pressure from the Celestine Empire, was appointed to the council of sages by the King of Renvere as the newly created position, Sage of Divinity.     Tayla was found after her family was killed by a roving band of demons by a man called Mareth Tamrick, a church official who helped to raise her.  When she was grown, he took her to the Hallowglade to return her to her own people, however she returned after several months, being scorned for giving up Runidiri traditions.  Tamrick offered her a position within the church, where she initially served as an envoy to Dol Gorak.  During her time there she petitioned many of the leadership in the senate to allow for churches to be built and missionaries to practice within the borders of Dol Gorak and Ferethrane, however each dwarven kingdom, the Runidiri leadership, and the Tenari royalty all denied this, causing her to once again return to the Imperial City.     She was then sent as envoy to Renvere, having a particular skill in magic, where she sought to advise the king, however she had a hard time getting a regular audience.  She took the the streets of Torenvar and used her magic to offer services to the people, granting her an immense popularity personally, even if it did not translate to a direct increase of interest in the Church of Celestine.  For this she was made a Saint by the church, which made her petitions harder to ignore from King Jonas Toren I.  She was eventually placed on the council of the Antiquis Arcanum in a newly created position, Sage of Divinity.     After the cannonization, Tayla was considered one of the prime candidates for becoming a champion of one of the The Heavenly Chorus.
