Personal history
Rum joined the city watch after the fighting as a soldier in the northern wars. He needed to calm down for a few years. A couple decades later, he left the city to go on some adventures. After acquiring the Hollaback Axe, he wreaked havoc on his enemies.
Later, in an attempt to scare off some archers who were attacking his party, he created an illusion of his downed companion, Kam Eleon, rising up with fiery demonic eyes. When a new volley of arrows came down, they sailed through the illusion and pincushioned Kam's body, unintentionally killing him for good. He took up Kam's obsidian blade to honor his fallen companion.
The group left to enter the Realm of Elemental Chaos on the behalf of the Obsidian Tree to set her free. After exploring the realm for a while, the obsidian blade started to call to him. He was increasingly drawn to its power. Then they encountered a stone that allowed Rum to sacrifice his intelligence to become incredibly fast and strong. His vocabulary became more limited, and he became more susceptible to the blade's influence. When the party decided to abandon the tree's quest and return to the material realm, Rum decided to stay behind where he would be more powerful.
Employment
He used to work on the city watch in Oindall, but now he has come to serve the Obsidian Tree in the Realm of Elemental Chaos.
